Information Section

This section contains information on various aspects of the British Isles and the countries and regions that form the British Isles as a whole. The term Britain can be a political term but we have used it in its geographic meaning to designate all the countries and islands that make up the British Isles – The United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Island and the Republic of Ireland are the main areas but we also cover the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, the Hebrides and western Islands, the Orkney and Shetland islands.

The menu on the left hand side provides in formation on each of the countries of the UK and Ireland, the regions within each country and the counties and towns with these regions. Separate sections give information about the food, languages and flags used in Britain. In these we have given an overview of some of the regional food available, the indigenous dialects and languages of the British Isles and wherever we can find it, the regional flags or county flags used in various parts of Britain.

We are constantly adding to the information on the site and any text and photographs from your region or additions to the food, flags and language sections would be welcomed for inclusion.

This section contains information to help you choose the attraction types that best suit your needs. The information Section subjects are listed on the left hand side of this screen. Click on any of the subject links to access the information.

The subjects also contain general information on the countries and regions that make up the British Isles. There are many attractions to be found in all areas ranging from Historic castles, ancient monuments and cathedrals to modern attractions such as the Angel of the North.
